HORA PROELEFSIS (Homeland, Syllas Tzoumerkas, Griechenland 2011, 13. & 29.5.) Eine Familie im Zustand der Auflösung: Eifersucht und (un)erfüllte Liebe unter den drei erwachsenen Geschwistern, Streit zwischen deren Eltern über die Betreuung des kranken Familienoberhaupts und latente Spannungen wegen einer innerfamiliären Adoption vor 20 Jahren. Eine explosive Situation auch auf den Straßen: Unruhen wegen der Wirtschaftskrise. Szenen aus der Geschichte der Familie und Archivmaterial aus der Geschichte des Landes nach dem Ende der Militärdiktatur sind parallel zu den Bildern der Jetztzeit montiert. Ein Familiendrama voller Intensität, eine Parabel über ein Land im Ausnahmezustand, grundiert mit einer Analyse der griechischen Nationalhymne.

“This year, we grouped under the common denominator Locations those countries and geographic zones whose cinematography has appeared so striking as to merit featuring in their own section.

The first guest is Greece. In the last two years, the young Greek cinema has surprised the world with films in which dysfunctional families and the mix of dramatic and humorous situations amount to a fully innovative vision. Valdivia will show three of these feature films: HOMELAND (Official Selection at Venice 2010), ATTENBERG (Official Selection at Venice 2010) and WASTED YOUTH (Official Selection at Rotterdam 2011).”

Βραβείο πρωτοεμφανιζόμενου σκηνοθέτη στον Σύλλα Τζουμέρκα για τη Χώρα Προέλευσης στις Νύχτες Πρεμιέρας. Το βραβείο πρωτοεμφανιζόμενου ηθοποιού κέρδισε ο Χάρης Μάρκου για το Wasted Youth των Αργύρη Παπαδημητρόπουλου και Jan Vogel, και της πρωτομεφανιζόμενης ηθοποιού η Έφη Λογγίνου για τα 452 του Στράτου Τζίτζη.

DOMOVINA / Homeland / Hora proelefsis. Příběh volného pádu země i rodiny. Tři pokolení jedné rodiny (generace 50. let, ti, kteří dospívali po pádu diktatury v 70. letech, a nakonec nejmladší rodinní příslušníci) se dostanou do neodvratného sporu kvůli adopci, k níž došlo před dvaceti lety.
